Riding on an iPhone

The game runs free in mobile Safari with touch controls and portrait play; iOS limits live Bluetooth sensors, and there are two good workarounds.

Open the game on your iPhone and it just runs: portrait or landscape, pinch to zoom, drag to look around, and a hold-to-PEDAL button for demo riding. Your bike from the Frame Lab comes with you.

The one iOS limitation

Apple does not allow web pages to use Bluetooth, so live sensors cannot pair inside Safari. Your options: ride demo mode or replay a .fit file (both work perfectly), use the free Bluefy browser app which adds Web Bluetooth to iOS, or use any laptop or Android device with Chrome.

Does the game need an app?

No. It is a web page. Add it to your home screen if you want an icon.

Why will my sensor not pair on iPhone?

Safari has no Web Bluetooth. That is an Apple platform decision, not a game bug. The Bluefy app is the standard workaround.
